We have worked diligently for the past five years to sustain publishing Neshan and we are now in the process of publishing the 20th issue. We decided to share our joy and pride with the world’s design community and to devote the 20th issue to one of our permanent concerns: today’s graphic design of the world; a subject we have tried to introduce to the Iranian designers community since the very beginning of publication. In order to showcase the latest works, we sent invitations to many international designers of different ages, various countries and diverse experiences, and invited them to send two of their latest pieces. We asked the works to be in different fields so that various aspects of graphic designers can be shown. Although most of the replies were favorable and the artists welcomed our call, much of the pieces we received were posters.
We acquired a total of 107 works from 48 graphic designers and groups. We call this collection “Design Fresh” as it displays the latest experiences of worldly designers. An exhibition, featuring all works, will be held at the Iranian Artists House, Morteza Momayez Gallery from September 22 through 24, 2009.
